Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about FursaTele, applying, alerts and staying safe.
Why FursaTele?
Why use FursaTele instead of WhatsApp groups or other job sites?
Many groups forward adverts that are old, incomplete or fake, and many sites copy adverts without checking them. FursaTele is different:
- Checked before posting: every opportunity is confirmed on the organiser’s official website or an official .go.tz portal.
- Straight to the source: you always apply on the official site, never through a middleman.
- No noise: no chain messages, no spam, no expired posts. Closed opportunities are removed automatically.
- Free, always: no fees, no subscriptions, no “registration” payments.
What makes FursaTele different?
- Everything in one place: jobs, scholarships, internships, fellowships, grants and tenders.
- Matched to you: alerts filter jobs by your education level, field and years of experience, so you only see what you qualify for.
- English and Kiswahili: switch the whole site, including opportunity details, with one tap.
- Clear and complete: each post shows who can apply, requirements, benefits, deadline and the official link on one page.
- Help when you need it: the Ask FursaTele chat finds opportunities and gives CV and interview tips.
Can I trust the opportunities I see here?
Yes. Trust is the reason FursaTele exists:
- Official-source checks: the organisation, deadline, eligibility and application link are confirmed at the source.
- Reviewed and approved before publishing: nothing goes live without passing our checks.
- Scam filters: anything that asks for fees, promises “guaranteed” selection or hides the organiser is rejected.
- Always current: closed opportunities come down automatically.
- Report button on every post, so the community helps keep the site clean.
Will FursaTele help me not miss deadlines?
- Closing soon first: the list is sorted by deadline, so urgent opportunities are at the top.
- Countdown on every post: “3 days left” is clearer than a date.
- Alerts that reach you: get new matches instantly or in a daily summary, by email or on Telegram.
- Save for later: tap Save on any post and come back before it closes.
Can I find opportunities near me?
Yes. Filter by region (Dar es Salaam, Dodoma, Arusha, Mbeya/Iringa, Zanzibar, or abroad and remote). We give special attention to the Lake Zone: Mwanza, Geita, Shinyanga, Mara, Kagera and Simiyu, a region often overlooked by national job sites.
You can also type a town in the search box or ask the chat, e.g. “jobs in Geita”.
Does it work on any phone and with little data?
Yes. FursaTele is built for real Tanzanian conditions:
- Fast, light pages that open in seconds, even on slower networks.
- No app to download and no account to create. Just open the website.
- Telegram alerts use very little data and arrive like a normal message.
Who is FursaTele for?
Every Tanzanian looking to move forward:
- Students and school leavers (Form Four, Form Six, certificate and diploma) looking for training, internships and scholarships.
- Graduates looking for graduate programmes and first jobs.
- Professionals looking for their next role, fellowships or master’s and PhD funding.
- Entrepreneurs and suppliers looking for grants, competitions and tenders.
How does FursaTele protect job seekers?
- Scam warning on every post, and opportunities that ask for fees are never published.
- A dedicated scam line: report anything suspicious to report@fursatele.co.tz.
- We never ask for money, documents or passwords, and never contact you privately to “secure” a job.
- Your data is protected under Tanzania’s Personal Data Protection Act, 2022, and never sold or shared.
- Safety tips for jobs abroad, government jobs and agents.
About FursaTele
What is FursaTele?
FursaTele (“plenty of opportunities”) is a free, independent service for Tanzanians. Every day we look for jobs, scholarships, internships, fellowships, grants and tenders, check that each one is real, and share it on this website, on Instagram @fursatele.tz, by email and on Telegram.
Do I have to pay anything?
No. FursaTele is completely free: browsing, alerts, the chat helper, everything. We will never ask you for money, airtime, or your bank or ID details.
Genuine employers and scholarship providers don’t charge application fees either. Anyone who asks you to pay to apply, for an interview, a medical or “processing” is a scammer.
Are you the employer or the scholarship provider?
No. FursaTele is an information service. We share the advert and link you to the official website of the organisation. We don’t receive applications, shortlist or select anyone.
For questions about your application, results or interviews, contact the organisation directly using the details in its official advert.
How do you verify opportunities?
- Official source first: the organisation’s own website, or an official government portal (.go.tz) for government jobs.
- Details checked: deadline, who can apply, and that the link goes to the real organisation, not a look-alike site.
- Scam signs rejected: fees, “guaranteed” selection, no clear organiser, or requests for bank or ID details.
- Every post is reviewed and approved before it is published, and closed opportunities are removed automatically.
Applying
How do I apply for an opportunity?
- Tap Read more to see the full requirements, documents and deadline.
- Prepare your CV, cover letter and certificate copies.
- Tap Apply on [official site]. You apply directly with the organisation, not through FursaTele.
- Apply early. Many portals get slow on the last day.
What does the “Verified” badge mean?
Verified means every key detail (organisation, deadline, eligibility and application link) was confirmed on the organiser’s own official website or an official government portal.
Even so, always read the official advert before applying, because organisations sometimes change details after posting.
The link doesn’t work or the deadline has passed. What now?
Opportunities are removed automatically after their deadline. If a link is broken, the organisation may have moved its page. Search the opportunity title on the organisation’s official website.
Please tell us at customer@fursatele.co.tz so we can fix it for everyone. To catch the next one in time, turn on free alerts.
Can you help me with my CV or cover letter?
Yes. Tap Ask FursaTele at the bottom of any page and choose CV tips, Cover letter tips or Interview tips. You get short, practical advice in English or Kiswahili, free.
We don’t write or edit individual CVs, and we never charge for help.
Alerts
How do email alerts work?
- Open Get alerts, enter your email and choose what you want: jobs, scholarships, internships, grants and more.
- Add your education, field and years of experience, so you only get jobs you qualify for.
- Choose daily (one email around 6 pm) or instantly.
- Confirm with the link we email you. Done!
How do Telegram alerts work?
Open @FursaTeleBot in Telegram and tap Start. No email needed. You’ll get matching opportunities in the Telegram app.
Useful commands: /latest (newest that fit you), /settings (change choices), /sw (Kiswahili) and /stop.
How do I change or stop my alerts?
Email: every alert has Change choices and Unsubscribe links at the bottom. One tap is enough.
Telegram: send /settings to change, or /stop to stop. Send /start any time to come back.
I subscribed but I’m not receiving alerts.
- Check Spam or Promotions and mark our email “Not spam”. Add fursa@fursatele.co.tz to your contacts.
- Make sure you confirmed your email with the link we sent.
- Your choices may be very narrow. Tick more types, or the option for jobs open to any field.
- Alerts are sent only when something new matches you, so some days have none.
Still stuck? Email customer@fursatele.co.tz.
Safety & more
How do I spot and report a scam?
Warning signs:
- You’re asked to pay an application, interview, training, medical or “processing” fee.
- “Guaranteed” job or scholarship, or a job offer without an interview.
- Contact only by private WhatsApp or phone number, or a Gmail or Yahoo address for a big organisation.
- A website that looks like the real one but has a different address.
- Requests for your bank details, mobile money PIN or ID before any selection.
Report it: email report@fursatele.co.tz with a screenshot. Never send money. If you have lost money, also report to the police.
Can I submit an opportunity?
Yes, and it’s free. Employers, universities and organisations can email the official advert or link to fursa@fursatele.co.tz. We check it like everything else before sharing.
We never charge to post, and we don’t accept adverts that ask applicants to pay.
Is my personal data safe?
Yes. We keep only what alerts need (your email or Telegram chat number, choices and qualifications), never sell or share it, and follow Tanzania’s Personal Data Protection Act, 2022. You can unsubscribe any time, or ask us to delete everything at customer@fursatele.co.tz.
No question matches that. Try another word, or ask us below.
Still have a question?
Ask our chat helper right now, or write to us. We read every message.
